also this 1 is gonna be plasma bc it’s a kai season and I just need some good Kai n Jay interactions where the former isn’t hating on the latter- 

So, Krux also went after Libber because she was just generally annoying and also he hated technology and wanted to get rid of anything that might power it 

Thing is... Libber was seriously preggo, and being the dumbass he is Krux didn’t know how to deal with that so he just let her have the baby, thought ‘oh look a human weapon i can use this’ and kidnapped surprise adopted bby Jay after killing Libber. Rip. 

Fast-forward seventeen years, Jay’s working at his ‘uncle’s’ museum. Whenever the ninja come over, he’s usually told to work in the back (Krux doesn’t want any of them to figure it out), but sometimes he sneaks out to go hang with them even though he secretly hates them all. 

Krux has told him about his plans, what happened with the other elemental masters, but it’s his own twisted version of it that makes it look like he’s in the right. Also, he told Jay that Libber was his sister and she dropped Bby Jay off somewhere for him to die, but Krux found him just in time. 

Jay also has to wear vengestone cuffs whenever he’s working/going out (which Krux rarely lets him do) to make sure no one sees his powers. 

Also I don’t believe that Wu has ever been to that museum in his life so he didn’t realize that Libber’s son was right that or that Krux was right there. 

Jay and Kai have been play-flirting with each other for years now (Kai’s was def real, Jay was faking it but he’s starting to not believe that but he can’t tell Krux otherwise Krux’ll be pissed), and basically all the ninja have just been hounding Kai to ask Jay out. 

But the season starts before that happens. 

Krux has told Jay ab Acronix, Acronix shows up, Jay and Acronix bond over not knowing shit ab technology (Jay was never really allowed to use it), also the fact that Acronix is a lot nicer to him than Krux is. 

For context, Krux is very emotionally abusive and a bit physically as well, because he’s an asshole. 

Acronix does not approve of his brother’s methods. 

So, onward goes the season. I don’t remember all that much ab it, so Ima just go off my memor- oh yeah the wiki exists right

Jay’s not allowed to help with the whole kidnapping Borg thing, in case he gets recognized. He thinks the snake things are very cool.

Acronix thinks Borg is cute because futureshipping is canon here. Jay decides to help his new uncle get a date despite the said date being kidnapped by them. 

Kai goes to the museum, Jay’s there to help him while Krux does Adult Things (taking over the world and dealing with snake idiots). Jay does not help him. Jay tries to fight him. With lightning! Kai realizes this is the lightning master they were told about. Worrying. 

Krux shows up like 30 seconds into their fight and is like ‘alr wtf’ and fights Kai. Kai is informed that his parents are traitors. Nya shows up to see a child and an old man beating up her brother, hoses them both. Jay does not like being hosed, thank you very much. Interferes with his lightning. Makes him sneeze. 

Krux, Acronix, Jay, and Borg get away. Kai has to deal with the fact that his parents were (apparently) traitors. 

Jay thinks ab Kai, and does his best to push down the feelings for him that he definitely has. 

Kai does the same.

Wu’s dying, no one actually cares except they do for some stupid reason. Ugh, feelings. 

When they go to get the timeblade Jay goes with Blunck and Raggmunk to supervise. 

...They still lose it. Krux is angry at Jay and an asshole to him. 

How the ninja get the timeblade without Jay? Dunno, Lloyd just runs really fast. 

,,,K so pretty much nothing important happens with Jay for the next few episodes so-

Skip forward to when Kai’s barging in on his parents, they do the whole ‘we;re not dead or evil you fucking idiot’ thing. Jay bursts in a few moments later, he’s attacking Kai, Nya, Ray, and Maya.

At this point Jay’s had a few conversations with Wu when he was guarding the old man, Wu’s pretty much stated that ‘hey you were supposed to be in multiple prophecies but you weren’t so we had to do it ourselves, after all this is over i can teach you stuff bcuz krux is kinda an asshole to you’.

Ray and Maya know that Libber’s dead and was killed by Krux, but Jay was always kept away from them. They tell him now, with a note from Libber to him for proof.

...Jay really doesn’t know how to feel right now. 

He runs off to Krux while Kai and the others do their whole thing, Krux is finishing up doing smthn before getting to the time-travel-dragon thing. 

Here’s how it goes:

J, bursting into K’s shop and shoving the note towards him: “This isn’t true, right? Tell me it isn’t true.” 

K, skimming the note: “What is thi-” He goes silent. 

J: “...No. No, you’re lying. It’s not true, right?”

K: “You were never supposed to find out.”

J: “You lied to me! You said she abandoned me, not that you killed her! What the fuck is wrong with you?!” 

K: “It was necessary. She was on the wrong side, I had you under my control.”

J: “You killed my mother, you fucking-” K hits him hard across the side of the face, and J flinches as he stumbles back. J goes silent.  

K: “Shut. Up. You’re being ridiculous, I raised you. I am your protector, you are my successor.” He puts his arm around J, who is still silent.

J, shrugging off K’s arm: “No. I’m. NOT!” He shoots a bolt of lightning at K, knocking the old man back across the room and into some shelves, which collapse on top of him. 

J: Pants for a moment, before his eyes go wide. “Kai.” He turns, running out of the room. “KAI!”

Also Jay’s had a few moments throughout the season where Kai and he were... close in more ways than one so he is very in love. 

Acronix isn’t going on the dragon thing bcuz he is too gay and in love with Borg so 

Krux gets the last timeblade after kidnapping the Smith family and also Wu, Jay has to assure the other ninja ‘hey so im on ur side now and very bi for kai where is he by the way’

No idea how Krux got there in time. Probably used a gold cart or smthn, 

Krux goes back in time with Nya, Kai, and Wu, while Acronix and Borg are in love elsewhere. Jay bonds with the rest of the ninja as Ray dies next to them. Fun times. 

Krux is stopped, things happens, plasma kiss. Yay. 

annnd,,, that’s it.

i wanna make it clear ahead of time that i absolutely am aware of the flaws in this game and i’ve even spent a lot of time discussing them with my friends.nobody can diss dbh better than a dbh fan, believe me. i can be aware of something’s flaws and still like something (anybody whose followed me for lost knows i’ve dissed the flaws in lost loads of times. i still love it!) 

also the dude who wrote/directed this game is an asshole, an idiot, a sexist and a bunch of other bad things. thats not an unpopular opinion, i just wanted you guys to know that i know this. when i praise dbh, i’m not praising him

i don’t wanna say the word overrated because i don’t believe in that. i just find it interesting how certain characters are getting a lot of attention (e.g gavin, nines) whilst other characters are ignored or reviled. thats not me saying the characters whom are popular in fandom should be ignored, thats me saying i’d like more focus on other characters i like too e.g markus, kara, kamski, the jerries, north, josh, rose & adam and a bunch more. i just really like all the androids and some humans okay

like, its pretty obvious why simon (white man) is being adored whilst josh (black) and north (woman) are being ignored and despised respectively, right? and thats not me hating on simon or saying less simon. i like simon! (or like, what can be done with him bcuz canon simon has no depth)

i do not agree with the often used phrase “hank and connor are the only worthwhile part of this game”, in fact, i hate it. sure, the best part of the game, go ahead. but the only worthwhile part? fuck you, because

i like markus and kara and their stories! whilst most my problems with this game are in markus’ story (just trust me on that), overall i still like it. and kara? heck theres not a single kara chapter i don’t like. and on that note:

i don’t consider kara’s story to be useless. yeah she’s not part the revolution plot but thats not bad. i think it provides a balance. think of it like this: markus represents The Leader, the liberator, the messiah. he is fighting for his people. and he comes from a privileged background. connor is representing The Man, The System, depending on how you play him he is rebelling against The System or is a part of it. now what does kara represent? The People. her and the other androids she encounters represent the average android in this world. markus and connor can’t do that so i feel its important we see her. we’re seeing what markus (and maybe connor) are fighting for. and i think thats really important

and besides all that, i just plain like it okay

i like markus/north, i think they make a good couple (moreso in my head than in the game but i still think they’re sweet in the game)

the concept that pacifist markus and north don’t “make sense together” is stupid because ur assuming north is bloodthirsty and has no room for growth. and that all couples need to agree with each other. also north for violent markus and simon for pacifist markus also makes no sense to me becuz 1. people aren’t rewards, 2. ur confusing simon with josh. again. and 3. violent!markus and north would just be enabling each other. if north is to be with any markus, it should be pacifist markus because they’d be good for each other. also all three of them being options woulda been nice but that’s not an unpopular opinion anyways so moving on

the awkwardness felt about markus/north coulda totally been fixed by literally just one change. take the “lover” indicator and move it until after their first kiss. that way the timing is far less jarring and because the player can choose the kiss or not, the “lover” thing feels more like “yay i made their relationship grow” and less “oh whoa that was sudden”. if that was moved and nothing else changed, markus/north would’ve been way more loved. but alas, markus’ relationship scanner is just damn awkward

markus, my markus, is a verse and a kind, socially inept boy (i like how with the jericho four, north is a rowdy girl whilst the other three are various kinds of soft boys in their own way. i think thats cute and neat)

connor is not an innocent niave dumb bimbo (save that for the bedroom) and i wanna remind ppl that he’s an expert on psychology

there is nothing inherently morally wrong with shipping hank/connor. connor is capable of consent and age differences aren’t inherently bad. and the only reason this ship is controversial is because hank looks old and he’s not conventionally attractive. nobody would care otherwise

ok im gonna do my best to try and explain y this show is so good under the cut cuz its gonna b a long one

PART 1: reminding you of how incredible of a character ahsoka is without making this whole post about her

Ahsoka is literally the embodiment of the light. characters like her and luke represent what the jedi SHOULD HAVE BEEN and what they STRIVE FOR, but then lost that vision somewhere along the way. we assume that they DID used to b like this in the past, and satine even says something like “i remember when the jedi were ACTUALLY peacekeepers and not fucking insane warmongers who work only in the best interests of corperations” or umm idk. but ahsokas all, “the VALUES of the jedi are sacred to me”, so thats what she follows. We draw the connection between her and the daughter on mortis (who ALSO is supposed to represent the light side of the force) when their life forces are LITERALLY TIED TOGETHER for eternity or whatever. Ahsoka is not a grey jedi, she never uses the dark side, her lightsabers r literally WHITE, she is purely light side (also important to note that anakin was the one who tied their life forces together)

She acts as a foil to like. every single other character, and in turn makes THEM better characters as well. filoni puts ahsoka with obi-wan and anakin to point out “heres where their ideologies come into conflict with ahsoka (our ms light side), so this is where they r flawed” yes, maybe when ahsoka and obi-wan were arguing in siege of mandalore she was being a LITTLE unfair but, as she says IN THE SHOW, thats not really the point. the point is to show how obi-wan, and by extension the jedi, are now working in the interest of political advancement rather than purely in the interest of helping as many people as possible. with anakin, we see ahsoka leaving and anakin literally just standing there watching her walk away even though we all know that he really should be leaving as well, and has just as much if not MORE reason to walk away with her, but because of his unwillingness to let go and like a million other things like his pride and desire for power, his overall stupidity, (i love him tho. god bless) but he just. stands there. while she acts all mature and has this greater understanding of what the jedi have become. THEN, we pair her with characters like ventress and maul to point out the subtle GOODNESS in these obviously cartoonishly-evil characters. its kind of the same for both of them actually. they r all three fallen apprentices who are now trying to find their own path in the galaxy. ventress gets there, i’d argue at the end of ‘bounty’ she’s basically completed her character arc, but maul is just too much of an asshole to even consider doing ANYTHING nice for anyone ever. (its not his fault. he was literally taken as a baby to b raised and tortured by the most evil man in the galaxy for like. 20 years)

but most of yall already knew all that so lets talk about the more subtle things in the series and by “subtle” i mean actually super on-the-nose but whenever the show starts talking about politics everyone always blanks out and says “ok but wheres ahsoka?” even though the political stuff is actually really interesting. they just needed PRETTY aliens to talk about it and not ugly ones (if RIYO was the one who said “the republic is literally being run by corporations” then everyone would totally understand this part of the series) which leads us into

PART 2: the serperatists were right

literally the entire episode ‘heros on both sides’ is just about 3 republic senator douchebags trying to KEEP THE WAR GOING so that they. can keep making money. the entire war. all this suffering and death, just so 3 randos have a steady income. one of them literally says at one point like “if we have peace then money stops flowing into our pockets!!!” like cmon. this is fucked. and then in that SAME EPISODE we have that one seperatist senator guy straight up say “we are not run by corporations like the republic is”. but also nobody likes that episode bcuz lux flirts w ahsoka even though its like. the most important episode in the whole series.

so everytime they say “the republic is corrupt” thats what they mean. that they arent acting in the best interest of the CITIZENS, rather in CORPORATIONS. hm this seems frighteningly familiar but... idk

but then the jedi r like “nuh uh uh u cant leave” like okay.... maybe instead of fighting to keep everyone a part of this corrupt republic, u evaluate y they WANT to leave and make strides to fix THAT. 

no one even knows WHY they are fighting. ahsoka fought as a soldier for like a year? before she even BEGAN to learn the politics behind what was going on. the extent of anakins knowledge of the situation was “the serperatists think the republic is corrupt but theyre wrong and its our job to restore order” which is an overly-simplistic point of view bcuz he spends like 90% of his down time hanging out with the surpreme chancellor so u cant rly blame him but i feel like this is still most of the jedis’ view of the war as well. 

with that said, the seperatists were 100% being manipulated by palpatine/sidious to further his evil-ass goals but like.... the rebublic was as well... so there rly is no good guy here except for the victims

PART 3: the jedi rnt EVIL, per se, but they are definitely an ACCESSORY to the republic’s downfall

citizens of the republic are NOT INTO the war. like at all. they literally just stand outside of the jedi temple protesting the war like “PLEASE STOP PRODUCING CLONES! THIS IS FUCKED! CANT U SEE HOW THIS IS FUCKED??!?!?”. in that same arc we have leta turmonds speech and barrises speeches about how the jedi lost their way because of this war. they use words like “warmongers”, “military weapons”, “an army fighting for the dark side”, but also talk about how the jedi USED to be good and wholesome etc. they say “the jedi order was not what is ONCE WAS”, “FALLEN FROM THE LIGHT” and THEY ARE LIKE. SUPER CORRECT. and then of course the martez sisters that r like “ya the jedi suck they rly shud b trying to end the war rather than keep it going.” and ahsokas like “they r?” and theyre like “they rnt but go off i guess”. even TARKIN is like “i rly dont think the jedi shud b in charge of the war effort bcuz BY THEIR VERY NATURE OF BEING JEDI, yall rnt supposed to b doing this.” and the line “the jedi are supposed to b peacekeepers not soldiers” is scattered throughout the entire series over and over again. and then whats the resolution to this line? what do we get at the VERY END of the series that tells us EVERYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW about how the jedi are operating now? “as a jedi, we were trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers. BUT ALL IVE BEEN SINCE I WAS A PADAWAN IS A SOLDIER”. ahsoka wasn’t a real jedi until she left the order and u can quote me on that. 

i cud go on about how theyre real dumb and probably shudve noticed that the chancellor was evil and the clones were going to b used against them by the sith in the foreseeable future, but i wudnt put that on the jedi so much as on the writers who wanted to make interesting episodes but still had to keep rots cannon. 

i keep saying the ideologies of the jedi were pure and good but i also dont 100% think that. we have another barriss line where she says “do u ever think that maybe it’s wrong to ignore your emotions?” and again, a bitch is correct. it is wrong! its super wrong. u shudnt ignore ur emotions. thats ridiculous. how do i know its ridiculous? look at what happens when an emotional person is told to supress his perfectly natural emotions for his entire life. darth vader. darth vader happens. 

“The Clone Wars, in and of itself, are the Revenge of the Sith” “the Sith had created the perfect Jedi trap; by fighting at all, the Jedi lost” (quotes im reciting by memory from the ROTS novelization bcuz my friend has it right now so i dont have it on me but im p sure the quotes r something like that)

so we’ve established that ahsoka is ms light side right? and we all know that she LEAVES the jedi. so i think its pretty ovbious that this is the point in the series where we r supposed to b like “ya ok. the jedi rnt all that great”. now, im not saying that like, plo koon and all ur other jedi favs love fascism, or that oder 66 was actually a good thing, im just saying that before the clone wars, the jedi were good guys, light side, just wanted to help ppl, and guide the galaxy though an era of peace, but the SECOND yoda sent the clones into battle on geonisis, thats when the downfall of the jedi was basically irreversible. 

speaking of the clones, lets talk about them

PART 4: the real clone wars was the friends we made along the way

the clones were the greatest victim of the clone wars and i rly shudnt have to expand on this any more bcuz everyone already knows this but im going to anyway

the clones are PEOPLE. whose ENTIRE EXISTENCE is just to fight in a meaningless war (where they are forced to watch their brothers and friends die) and then KILL THEIR BEST FRIENDS. its fucked! its so fucked. rex even says “many people wish the clone wars never had happened” (obviously. bcuz it was a terrible event for the galaxy and caused so much suffering for everyone involved) “but without it, we clones wudnt exist”. ‘nuff said.

PART 5: the tragedy of it all

its so fucking sad. i love a show that can make me sob for half an hour straight once the credits roll

this shot, holy shit. this is when anakin-NOT VADER- but ANAKIN learns ahsoka had died. his PADAWAN. SNIPS. this is him learning shes DEAD. and some-fucking-how, theres this big scary dude from the original trilogy, but all we can see is a sad man who feels like he’s let down everyone who’s ever cared about him, and that with ahsokas death, he’s at once lost (one way or another) everyone he had every cared about. its no wonder he sees her in rebels and just goes “oh this bitch has to die”. In some strange twisted way, he’s mad at her for hurting him. Look at how sad he made her! and he’s so tough! he shudnt b sad! fuck that bitch! fuck her for dying on him! “i thought we were bros! i thought that “if [i] have trained [you] well, then [you] shall take care of [your]self, and find [your] way back to [me]?”” anyway thats what i think was going thru vaders mind in rebels but idk

the last shot is another holy shit moment. so the clone wars was a terrible event. and do u remember rex, ahsoka, and anakin (the 3 main figured of the series) at the beginning of the show? how happy and chill they were? now look at what these 3 years of war have done to them. we see ahsokas face painted on a clone helmet, battered and broken, cracked and cold. in short, rex and ahsoka r fucked up. and in the reflection of the helmet we see our good friend anakin skywalker, who was also destroyed by the war. hes even MORE fucked then the two of them, who at least made it out with their souls or whatever still in tact

but its all good bcuz ahsoka is still around to embody the best of anakin and the best of the jedi. “BECAUSE OF YOU, i did survive”, she says to anakin. “and not only that, but i LEAD OTHERS to survive as well”. its rly a good thing that this finale came after rebels bcuz we’ve already seen ahsoka in action be a force of good in the galaxy, and by extension, bcuz of how ahsoka’s success is BECAUSE OF ANAKIN, HIS memory and HIS soul living on through ahsoka is a force of good as well. 

the real tragedy is how easily this cud all have been avoided. “maybe if ahsoka had stayed”, “maybe if yoda wasnt a dumbass”, “maybe if fox had set his weapon to stun”, “maybe if ahsoka had been able to talk to anakin during the siege of mandalore” etc etc. buuuuuut unfortunately rots is cannon so. sucks to suck

the other thing thats super sad is that in rebels, rex and ahsoka MISS the clone wars. even though it was a horrible ordeal, they. want to go back to that time to be with the friends that they lost. and ahsoka really did want to become a jedi. “im a jedi knight. or soon will be” (lmao bitch u THOUGHT) but like i said before, there was no way she could become the kind of jedi she wanted to be if she stayed in that order, and not just bcuz order 66 was around the corner. the jedi of the clone wars were not what real jedi should be, and i think ahsoka got closer to that ideal than anyone else (except maybe luke) (”u never wudve made it as obi-wan’s padawan... but u might make it as mine” and she did)

so whats the moral of the story? what do we learn from all this? follow ur own path. do what YOU think is right. trust YOUR instincts. keep ur friends close, and know who to trust. dont forget to constantly be thinking critically about the world around u. don’t lose sight of ur values, or of whats important to u. and sometimes, u have to start over to move forward

WOW i wrote a lot. if u read all that im super proud of u and u shud totally message me about it if u wanna talk lol. this was super fun and ive been wanting to write more clone wars metas bcuz of my love @meandmyechoes​ and all the other cool ppl in this fandom who do this. IN CONCLUSION: clone wars slaps. and ppl know this but like, they also dont. they dont know HOW MUCH it slaps. no one does. it slaps THAT hard

I feel like i have yet to comprehend how GOOD the clone wars actually is ykno? Like i love it, obviously, but i just wish i had a few more brain cells so i cud understand every nuance and theme and piece of symbolism
